Maya Angelou once said, “people will always remember how you made them feel” and it goes for more than just the human species. Elephants are wonderful sentient beings, highly social, intelligent, ordered in their hierarchy and ultimately, until you’ve stood witness to a herd interacting and navigating the landscape, it can be a hard concept to grasp. Just as the conflict that can exist between a herd and its human neighbours and dare I say the horrific poaching industry. There is a much bigger picture to be seen.
This piece is one from my ‘Lessons in Nature’ - Elephant Wisdoms collection, shot whilst working across Africa. It is a statement of our disappearing earth and the need to find a more acute level of understanding and compassion for our fellow sentients and the earth we share.
